House rules

Peace and quiet

Most people come to Sweden for the peace and quiet. It is therefore not allowed to disturb other guests with loud music or noise. Hen parties, stag parties and similar celebrations are strictly not allowed.

Smoking

Smoking indoors is prohibited. We kindly ask you to smoke outside. Please do not throw cigarette butts in the garden or on the patio.

Damage to furniture, contents or the property

If you notice that something is broken when you arrive, please let us know straight away. If something breaks during your stay – accidents happen – please report it immediately, so that the next guests (and we ourselves) are not met with surprises. Damage that is discovered afterwards and was not reported will be invoiced.

Fire safety

The chimneys of the open fireplaces have not been inspected by the fire service and may therefore not be used, for safety reasons. Never throw burning cigarettes or matches in the garden or in nature. Leaving lit candles or the like when you are not in the apartment is strictly prohibited.

Barbecue

A barbecue is available free of charge. Please use only charcoal or briquettes. Clean the barbecue and the grill after use. Never throw (hot) ashes in the garden or in nature, because of the fire risk.

Washing machine and tumble dryer

These are available to you free of charge. We provide a few laundry pods to get you started; extra pods can be bought in the village shops. Please do not use the washing machine and the tumble dryer at the same time. Even better is to let your laundry dry on the drying rack – it is better for the environment! :-) Clean the dryer's lint filter and empty the water container (top left) after use and before you leave.

Supplies

On arrival you will find toilet paper, soap, tissues, washing-up liquid and cleaning products. The beds are made, and towels and tea towels are included. The apartments also have cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaner, brush, bucket, dustpan). Please leave the apartment "broom-clean" when you leave (swept/vacuumed). Missing something? Let us know as soon as possible and we will try to help you right away.

Waste

At Villa Storfors we think green and sort our waste. There are two bins by the road. The brown bin is for food waste (brown paper bags are provided). The green bin is for residual waste. Plastic, metal, glass, paper, drinks packaging and textiles are sorted separately and can be taken to the recycling station at ICA (100 metres away).

Parking

There is parking in front of the house. Please park your car there and not right next to the house wall.

Check-out

All good things come to an end. We ask you to leave the apartment by 10:00 on the day of departure. Before you say goodbye, please check the following:

• The dishes are washed and put away in the cupboards.
• The heating is turned down to frost protection.
• All windows and doors are closed.
• Any furniture you moved is back in its original place.
• All electrical appliances are switched off.
• All waste is in the right bin.
• The apartment is "broom-clean" (swept/lightly cleaned).
• You have reported any damage to the property or its contents.

Wi-Fi

You will find the Wi-Fi login details in the apartment/room. To use Chromecast on the TVs, make sure you select the right network for your apartment/room.

TV

The apartment/room has a TV on which you can stream your own Netflix, Prime, Disney+ or HBO Max accounts, or audio from Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube, via Chromecast.

Washing machine

Every apartment has a washing machine and tumble dryer for you to use. Brief instructions are on the machines. We always provide a few laundry pods; if you need more, you can buy them in the village shops (ICA and Coop). Please do not use the washing machine and the tumble dryer at the same time.

Vacuum cleaner

A cordless vacuum cleaner is provided. Please charge it after use and empty the container before you leave.

Shopping and groceries

The village has two small supermarkets, ICA Nära and Coop. They are open daily from 09:00 to 20:00 and are within walking distance of Villa Storfors. For bigger shopping trips and a wider range, you can visit the large supermarkets in Karlskoga, Kristinehamn or Filipstad, which generally have longer opening hours.

Charging your electric car

Driving an electric car? You can charge it at ICA, 100 metres from the accommodation.

Public transport

You can take the bus (number 400) to Filipstad and Kristinehamn (a journey of about 30 minutes). The bus stops are within walking distance (Kroppavägen or Storfors Resecentrum). From Filipstad and Kristinehamn you can also take the bus to Karlstad (number 500). For timetables, see www.varmlandstrafik.se.
